This practical workshop will give the professional graphic designer an opportunity to better understand how to direct, manage and shoot commercial photography. Topics covered will consist of art direction, lighting, creative camera technique, business perspectives and photo processing. The class will consist of instruction and practical application. Participants will have the opportunity to utilize a hi-end professional photographic studio. Please bring a digital camera (auto or manual). There will be a break for lunch from 12:30 to 1:30, so please plan accordingly. All proceeds are tax deductible and will go to the Birmingham AIGA. The workshop will take place at Billy Brown's studio in Homewood, AL. Only Ten Seats Available.
Billy Brown, a photographer with a passion for image making, has been creating photographs for over twenty-five years. Billy received his B.A. photography from the University of Alabama in 1979. He specialized in people and his work covers a wide range of advertising, editorial, and corporate assignments. Some of Billy's clients include AT&T, Hanes, Xerox, Miller Brewing, Frito-Lay, and GE. His photographs have appeared in many national publications including Forbes, Seventeen, Black Enterprise, Ad Week and Print.
