Student Portfolio Review

AIGA Birmingham invites students from Alabama colleges and universities to participate in the fourth annual AIGA Birmingham Portfolio Review. The review will take place Saturday April 18, 2009 from noon to 3:00pm on the UAB campus at the Visual Arts Gallery Humanities Building, 900 13th Street South; Birmingham, AL 35294. A panel discussion will be conducted from 3:00-3:35pm.

Over 20 design firm representatives, freelancers, photographers and multimedia professionals will be on-hand to review students' works. Door prizes will also be given away throughout the event. Over the past five years, we've had hundres of students from all areas of the state participate, including students from Troy University, Samford University, University of South Alabama, Auburn University, Jacksonville State University, University of Montevallo, University of Alabama at Birmingham, University of North Alabama and others.

FAQ:

How do I register? Registration is open. We encourage students to signup as early as possible to get your pick of reviewers at the event. Fill out steps 1 and 2 above.
 
What is the cost? $5 for student AIGA members and $15 for non-student members.
 
How many creatives can I have review my portfolio? Students may signup for as many as 3 reviewer times.
 
What should I bring? A portfolio with your resume and 10-15 pieces of your best work.
 
Where can I park? Parking is available on the street and in the lot north of the Humanities Building, accessible at the intersection of University Boulevard & 12th Street.
 
Do I need to be a student to participate in the reviews? Yes. You must be currently enrolled to register.
