AIGA Birmingham invites students from the region to participate in the 14th annual AIGA Birmingham Portfolio Review. The review will take place Saturday April 8, 2017 from 12-3pm at Samford University. The review will take place in the Samford University Graphic Design Lab - BBS 217 (Campus Map Entrance # 8).
Approximately 20 design firm representatives, freelancers, photographers, and multimedia professionals will be on-hand to review student work. Over the past years, we've had hundreds of students from all areas of the state participate including Troy University, University of South Alabama, Auburn University, Jacksonville State University, University of Montevallo, University of Alabama at Birmingham, University of North Alabama and others.
Students may signup for reviews with specific reviewers when they arrive at 11:30am. Creative Director Aaron Gresham with Big Communications will present Why they got the call and not you from 3-3:45pm.
How do I register?
Click on the register button at top of the page to pay with PayPal. Once on the registration landing page, do one of the following to begin your registration: non-members, click on the small type towards the top of the page that says "create a new one now"; members, fill out your username and password, then click "login."
Having trouble registering online?
Email firstname.lastname@example.org with the following information: your name, the name of the event you wish to register for, your attendee category (notate whether or not you are an AIGA member), your email address, and your mailing address. We will then put you on the registered list, and you may pay your registration fee at the door day-of. Pease bring the means to do so. We accept cash and cards.
What is the cost?
$5 for student AIGA members and $15 for students who are non-members.
How many creatives can I have review my portfolio?
Students may signup for as many as 3 reviewer times. However, students may sign up for 1 reviewer at a time, then the student must return to the registration desk to sign up for another review.
What should I bring?
A portfolio of 10-15 pieces of your best work and a resume. Be prepared to discuss your work.
Where can I park?
Parking is available on campus near the building.
